Special thanks to Rachael Adams for donating original furniture to the Taylor House from her family. Rachael is the Great Grand daughter of John Newton Taylor.
In 1935, the original butler's pantry and kitchen were divided into two separate kitchens, one for each tenant of the house. Over the years, both kitchens were neglected. During the restoration, the kitchen and butler's pantry were updated with modern appliances and safety features to meet the city of Columbia's health code, and custom cherry cabinets were added to retain an old-style ambiance.
